Overview
We are partnering with a leading and rapidly growing insurance organisation to appoint an experienced Insurance Accounting Manager to lead a high-performing team of Insurance Accounts Officers responsible for the delivery of critical insurance accounting activities across the Group.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded finance leader to step into a visible leadership role where you will work closely with underwriting, finance and business leaders to strengthen financial governance, optimise operational processes, drive excellence, influence process improvements and contribute to the ongoing growth and success of the business.
The Opportunity
In this role you will provide day-to-day leadership and technical oversight across receipting, account allocation, trust and premium reconciliations, debtor management.
- Lead, mentor and develop a team of insurance accounting professionals.
- Manage premium and trust account reconciliations.
- Oversee receipting, premium allocation and cash management activities.
- Monitor debtor performance and credit control processes.
- Support month-end reporting, financial controls and audit requirements.
- Act as the escalation point for complex insurance accounting queries.
- Identifying opportunities to streamline processes and improve operational efficiency.
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders and partners.
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Degree qualifications in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline.
- CA or CPA qualifications (or currently working towards them).
- Leadership experience managing finance or accounting teams.
- Experience within an insurer or within an underwriting agency environment.
- Sound understanding of premium accounting, trust accounting, receivables, reconciliations and financial controls.
- Experience managing high-volume transactional finance environments.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- A hands-on, solutions-focused approach with a continuous improvement mindset.
