Our client is an established, multidisciplinary professional services firm bringing together expertise across accounting, financial services and investments. With a strong reputation, a collaborative culture and an ambitious approach to business improvement, they are seeking an experienced Practice Manager to help shape the next chapter of the organisation.
The Role
This is not a traditional office management position.
Working closely with the firm's partners, you will play a central role in translating business strategy into action, connecting the different divisions and ensuring the organisation operates effectively.
You will be a visible leader across the practice, bringing people together, championing change and identifying opportunities to improve how the business operates.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Partner with the firm's leadership team to implement strategic initiatives and drive business improvement.
- Lead and develop the administration function, providing direction and support across the wider practice.
- Oversee HR matters, including employee relations, performance management, employment contracts and people initiatives.
- Drive collaboration between accounting, financial services, investment and operational teams.
- Champion technology adoption, process improvements and opportunities to leverage AI across the business.
- Oversee operational compliance, governance and business reporting in collaboration with internal and external specialists.
- Lead organisational change and special projects, ensuring initiatives are implemented effectively across the practice.
- Build strong relationships at every level of the organisation, creating a connected and accountable working environment.
You are an experienced operational leader who enjoys being at the centre of a business. Equally comfortable discussing strategy with partners and supporting employees through day-to-day challenges, you bring a combination of commercial awareness, emotional intelligence and practical leadership.
You understand that effective leadership means knowing when to delegate, when to challenge and when to roll up your sleeves.
To be successful, you will bring:
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in a senior Practice Manager, Operations Manager, General Manager or comparable business leadership position.
- Experience within a multidisciplinary professional services environment, with the ability to understand and connect different business functions.
- Demonstrated experience implementing business strategy, leading change and improving operational performance.
- Strong people leadership, HR knowledge and emotional intelligence, with the confidence to influence senior stakeholders and manage challenging conversations.
- Experience within accounting, financial planning, wealth management or investment services.
- Experience implementing new technology, improving business systems or introducing AI and automation into business operations.
- Competitive remuneration of approximately $160k package, with flexibility for the right candidate.
- Work directly with the partners in a role where your ideas and contributions will have a genuine impact on the business.
- Enjoy flexible start and finish times, a supportive culture and a strong emphasis on work-life balance.
- Benefit from daily staff lunches and a generous group income protection policy.
- Build your career in Melbourne's eastern suburbs, with a long-term office location in Blackburn.
If you are an experienced operational leader looking for a role where you can take ownership, lead meaningful change and make a lasting impact across an entire business, we would love to hear from you.
