A global leading insurance organisation specialising in commercial insurance is seeking a Legal Counsel to join their established team to provide strategic legal advice across APAC. Join a team of experienced legal professionals in an environment which is development and support focussed. Excellent opportunity for an individual coming from private practice, in-house or from consultancy to join a growing international business, in a role which is fast paced while also offering work life balance. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 
  • Drafting, negotiation and execution of a range of contracts and agreements.
  • Assist with legal tasks, business projects and initiatives.
  • Researching, advising and training on matters including general insurance and broader corporate and commercial matters.
  • Provide support to the business, including underwriting, claims and marketing on various legal matters as they arise.
  • Contribute to an effective team environment by interacting professionally with all team members and providing, support and assistance as required.
  • Proactively seek to improve legal operations and self through continuous evaluation and improvement of practices and processes.
Experience required:
  • A Bachelor of Laws degree is essential.
  • Admitted to an Australian jurisdiction with a current practicing certificate. 
  • Minimum three years PQE ideally in insurance but other financial services experience may be considered.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to develop and maintain stakeholder relationships.
