Our client is an established organisation seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join its Melbourne team on a 12-month contract.
You'll be working alongside an experienced team in a collaborative environment where accuracy, teamwork and a positive approach to problem-solving are valued.
The Role
Working closely with the wider payroll and finance teams, you'll support the accurate and timely delivery of payroll for approximately 850 employees.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Process fortnightly payroll and support a small monthly payroll.
- Prepare payroll inputs and review reports to ensure accuracy.
- Assist with employee onboarding, terminations, leave and payroll adjustments.
- Investigate payroll discrepancies and respond to employee enquiries.
- Complete payroll reconciliations and support statutory reporting.
- Liaise with an external payroll provider to resolve processing issues.
- Work closely with Finance and HR to maintain accurate payroll records.
- Support improvements to payroll processes and documentation where required.
We're looking for someone who enjoys the operational side of payroll and takes pride in getting things right.
You'll bring:
- Minimum 2 years' hands-on Australian payroll experience.
- Good understanding of payroll processing, superannuation, PAYG and leave entitlements.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work to payroll deadlines.
- A collaborative approach and confidence communicating with employees and internal stakeholders.
- Experience with ADP or another outsourced payroll provider.
