An opportunity is available for an experienced Senior Account Manager (Financial Lines) to take ownership of a high-quality client portfolio within a well-established, growth-focused insurance brokerage. This is a senior, hands-on role suited to a technically strong broker who enjoys autonomy, client leadership and mentoring others.
You will act as a trusted advisor to clients and internal stakeholders, delivering expert advice across complex Financial Lines risks while contributing to portfolio growth, operational excellence and team development.
About the Role
In this role, you will manage the end-to-end delivery of a Financial Lines portfolio, including new business, renewals, endorsements, debtors and reporting. You will provide market-leading service and technical expertise, work closely with Claims and Technical teams, and partner with senior leaders to support strategy and revenue growth.
You’ll also play a key role in mentoring junior team members and helping lift technical capability across the broader broking team.
Key Responsibilities

Broking & Client Management
  • Take full responsibility for a Financial Lines portfolio including new business, renewals, quotes, endorsements, cancellations and debtors
  • Conduct detailed risk reviews and maintain a deep understanding of each client’s business and industry
  • Lead strategic portfolio reviews, identify growth opportunities and contribute to sales planning and forecasting
  • Deliver exceptional client service with a strong focus on face-to-face engagement
  • Secure new business while driving retention and portfolio performance
  • Maintain strong relationships with insurers, underwriters and external stakeholders
  • Stay current with market trends, insurer appetite and legislative changes
  • Manage Financial Lines claims in collaboration with internal Claims teams
  • Review financial statements to assess client risk profiles and coverage needs
Operations, Compliance & Leadership
  • Ensure all broking activity meets regulatory, compliance and internal policy standards
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, reports and client documentation
  • Actively manage debtors in line with agreed standards
  • Support escalation of complex client matters in partnership with senior leadership
  • Contribute to business continuity planning, process improvement and company projects
  • Mentor, coach and support junior brokers and team members
  • Delegate portfolio tasks appropriately to build team capability and capacity
  • Share market insights, product knowledge and industry developments
  • Represent the business at industry and client networking events
Skills & Experience
  • Extensive experience as an Account Manager or Senior Broker, ideally within Financial Lines
  • Advanced technical knowledge of insurance products, claims and risk management
  • Strong commercial acumen and portfolio management capability
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills
  • High attention to detail with excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Comfortable using multiple broking and insurer platforms
Qualifications
  • Tier 1 Insurance Broking qualification (mandatory)
  • Diploma of Insurance Broking (preferred)
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and CPD
