Account Manager – Insurance Broking
Location: Sydney, NSW
Work Model: Hybrid – 3 days in-office, 2 days working from home.


About the Role
My client is hiring an experienced Account Manager to join their Sydney-based insurance broking division. This is a dynamic opportunity to manage a diverse SME portfolio while contributing to a collaborative and supportive team culture. The role offers a mix of servicing, advisory, and growth responsibilities across a broad range of industries and insurance products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and service a portfolio of SME clients, with potential exposure to larger accounts depending on experience
  • Develop a deep understanding of clients’ insurance programs and provide year-round support
  • Maintain strong retention levels and identify growth opportunities within the portfolio
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with clients, underwriters, and key stakeholders
  • Provide advice and placement across multiple lines including SME Package, Property, Liability, Commercial Motor, Fleet, Financial Lines, and Retail Products
  • Ensure compliance with internal processes including debtor management and renewals
  • Submit marketplace proposals via Sunrise; Windbeat also used and easy to learn
Candidate Profile
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience 
  • Tier 1 Insurance Broking qualification required; Diploma preferred
  • Strong communication and client engagement skills
  • Demonstrates integrity, curiosity, and a proactive approach to learning
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively
  • Strong presentation and written communication skills
  • Technologically proficient with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
