We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Accounts Officer to join our dynamic finance team. As a Accounts Officer you will play a crucial role in managing the company's credit and collections processes, ensuring timely payment from customers while maintaining positive relationships and minimizing credit risk. 

The role:
  • Monitor and manage the company's accounts receivable portfolio, ensuring timely payment from clients.
  • Conduct credit assessments on new and existing customers to evaluate creditworthiness.
  • Review and analyse customer credit limits, setting appropriate terms and conditions.
  • Proactively contact customers to resolve payment discrepancies and outstanding balances.
  • Issue invoices and statements, ensuring accuracy and adherence to billing schedules.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer records, including contact information and payment history.
  • Collaborate with the sales team and other departments to resolve customer queries and disputes.
  • Prepare and distribute regular reports on outstanding debts, payment trends, and credit exposure.
  • Implement and enforce credit control policies and procedures to minimize bad debt risk.
About You
  • Proven work experience within Credit Control or within a similar role within the Insurance or Banking space.
  • Strong knowledge of credit control principles, practices, and relevant legislation.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in using accounting software and MS Office (particularly Excel).
