We are currently seeking an experienced Underwriting Assistant to join our client's team. This position requires 1-2 years of experience within the general insurance industry. As an Underwriting Assistant, you will be responsible for providing crucial support to the underwriting team in administrative tasks and data analysis. You will collaborate closely with underwriters, brokers, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth operations and accurate documentation.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with underwriters to assess insurance applications and determine risk levels.
  • Conduct comprehensive reviews of policy documents, endorsements, and related materials for accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare quotes, policy documents, and endorsements in adherence to company guidelines.
  • Maintain meticulous records of underwriting activities, including policy information and endorsements.
  • Act as a point of contact for brokers, agents, and internal stakeholders, providing timely and professional customer service.
  • Assist in analyzing risk factors and trends to support underwriting decision-making.
  • Stay updated on industry developments, regulatory changes, and underwriting guidelines to ensure compliance.
  • Contribute to the improvement of underwriting procedures, systems, and workflows.
  • Support the underwriting team in ad-hoc projects and initiatives as needed.
Requirements:
  • 1-2 years of experience in the general insurance industry.
  • Strong knowledge of insurance policies, procedures, and underwriting principles.
  • Proficiency in underwriting software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills for seamless interaction with stakeholders.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong customer service orientation with a focus on building positive relationships.
