Job description

Position Summary: As a Product Manager, you will contribute to growing our client’s customer base. Reporting to the Head of Actuarial & Underwriting, you will manage and develop product offerings, regularly review and update policy coverage, Product Disclosure Statements, and application forms, and develop new products to meet market needs, encouraging member retention and growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Product Management:
    • Review and modify product coverage, policy wordings, and practice categories.
    • Advise other business areas on policy coverage and benefits.
    • Compare policy coverage with competitors.
    • Ensure product compliance with regulatory developments.
  2. Product Development:
    • Lead the development of new insurance products, specifying features, terms, and coverage.
    • Collaborate with Business Development, Client Services, and Legal Services.
  3. Market Research:
    • Monitor industry and market developments for product improvement opportunities.
    • Advise on evolving issues in health and medical services.
    • Lead research projects on member product needs.
  4. Operational Management:
    • Ensure compliance with legislative requirements, policies, and service commitments.
    • Manage projects within scope and budgets.
    • Maintain a document repository for policy documents and product statements.
    • Liaise with internal stakeholders for cross-departmental updates.
  5. Cross-Functional Relationship Management:
    • Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure seamless service delivery.
    • Participate in cross-departmental meetings for process improvement.
    • Facilitate inter-department communication and conflict resolution.
Person Specification:
  • Experience and Knowledge:
    • Essential: 5+ years in product management/development in insurance or financial services.
    • Desirable: Experience in PI insurance, highly regulated environments.
