Key Responsibilities Clinical Support & Case Management
- Assess treatment appropriateness using clinical documentation and MNA.
- Escalate deteriorating cases to the Medical Doctor for direction.
- Liaise with global providers and treating teams to gather clinical insights.
- Oversee medical evacuations and repatriations, ensuring safe and timely movement.
- Conduct fitness-to-fly and functional nursing assessments aligned with airline and internal protocols.
- Interpret medical and travel documentation to support claims liability decisions.
- Apply policy knowledge to provide clinical recommendations on claims.
- Deliver evidence-based advice to improve traveller outcomes and manage financial risk.
- Ensure compliance with case management and claims procedures.
- Maintain current knowledge of insurance guidelines and clinical best practices.
- Contribute to clinical guideline development and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support complaints and customer relations teams with clinical expertise.
- Drive traveller-centric projects and promote a culture of care and service excellence.
- Maintain AHPRA registration (or international equivalent) and fulfil CPD requirements.
- Participate in clinical audits and quality assurance activities.
- Attend relevant workshops and training to maintain clinical competencies.
- Adhere to WHS and risk management protocols, promoting a safe and supportive work environment.
- Team Size: 6 Medical Coordinators currently in the team.
- Roster: Regularly rostered across a 7-day week, including weekends. Shifts vary between morning, afternoon, and evening.
Scheduled for 3 days per week, with each shift lasting 12.5 hours. - Office Attendance: Weekday shifts may require attendance in the office.
- Shift Loading: Not applicable - compensation is built into the salary.
- Leave Entitlement: 6 weeks of annual leave per year.
- Registered Nurse with AHPRA (or international equivalent).
- Minimum 5 years' clinical experience across Emergency, ICU, Aviation, Remote or Telemedicine.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Proven ability to manage emotionally sensitive situations with professionalism.
- Experience in efficient case management and cost containment.
- Experience in Travel Insurance or Emergency Assistance Medicine.
- Insurance background is beneficial but not essential - strong case management experience is highly valued.
